If the Falcons lose tonight Mike Smith is likely long gone
Ian Rapoport reported on NFL Network that members of the Falcons’ coaching staff believe that even winning the division with a 7-9 record wouldn’t necessarily save Smith’s job.
This could be another team looking for a head coach if they lose today. Hopefully the Falcons can pull it off.
“First of all, they have not been told their fate as of yet…” Rapoport said. “But they believe that if the Falcons lose tonight, that there will be some big changes, included the firing of head coach Mike Smith. On the other side, if they win tonight, the belief is that they also need to win a playoff game to ensure that there are no changes in Atlanta.”
