Drew Brees statistically is the best QB in the NFL

Just how good is Drew Brees? It kills me when people talk about Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers but leave off Drew Brees.

Why is that? Here is why I feel Brees deserves more. The guy is one of the smallest quarterbacks in the league and he is putting up ridiculous numbers. Last week against Chicago, Brees threw for 4,000 yards in what would be his 9th consecutive season. He has plenty more stats as well.

@ESPNNFL: If Drew Brees starts Sunday, he’ll have most:
Comp. (4,868)
Att. (7,346)
Pass yds (55,218)
Pass TDs (393)
Through 200 starts in NFL history

Brees ranks fourth all-time as a passing yard leader with more than 2,500 more yards than Tom Brady who is 2 years older than him.

Brees also passed Brady last week to move into fourth all time for touchdown receptions with 394. He has three more than Brady.

Brady feels he can play until he is forty and if Brees stays on his path of throwing 4000 a season and 30 touchdowns he will finish with 75,000 career passing yards and 544 career touchdowns.

That would surpass Peyton Manning who currently has 528 and would guarantee him a second place finish. That would also put him 3,000 yards higher than Favre who is the leader with 71,838.

So next time you talk about great players please include Drew Brees.
