Michael Vick will face the coach that gave him a chance after his prison sentence

vick reidThis week Michael Vick will start his first game of the 2014 NFL season, and he will go up against Andy Reid the head coach that gave him a chance to play football again after he was sentenced to prison time for dog fighting charges. Vick still has love for Reid.

“I love Andy Reid for the man that he is,” Vick said, via Darryl Slater of NJ.com. “As far as the football game, football is football. I just want to go out there and do what’s best for the team and hopefully try to get a win. But it is kind of ironic that the first chance I get to start is against my former coach.

“Would I have wanted it that way? No, honestly. But it is what it is. It’s a great opportunity and I just have to try to take full advantage of it.”

Vick will get a full week of practice with the Jets starters and newcomer Percy Harvin. It will be interesting to see what the Chiefs can do defensively against Vick.  The Chiefs have the NFL’s sack leader in Justin Houston, but will it be enough to beat the Jets and the elusive Michael Vick?
