Jaguars sign former small school defensive back; Place Alan Ball on I/R

The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced that they are placing CB Alan Ball on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday and signing CB Tommie Campbell to take his place on their roster.

Campbell, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Tennessee Titans back in 2011. He spent three years with Tennessee before he was placed on waivers as the team trimmed their roster down to 53 players this past August.

Campbell played college football for the University of Cal (PA) a small school in Pennsylvania that has produced several NFL players including Eric Kush, and Rontez Miles.

The kid is a big boy, who is fast and is not afraid to lay wood on a player. This is an awesome signing for Gus Bradley and company. The Jaguars tried out several veterans but ultimately chose Campbell.

Jaguars tried out LB Justin Jackson, DB Matt Daniels, and DB Jeremy Deering.
