The Washington Redskins were struggling with the Jacksonville Jaguars when Robert Griffin III, came down badly on his ankle. Well it did not take long for the Redskins back-up quarterback to get ready to play the aggressive Jaguars defense. A matter of fact, Cousins came in and on his first strike nailed Darrell Young for a touchdown pass in the corner of the endzone. That is when the Kirk Cousins era began. Cousins went on to put a FORTY-BURGER on the Jacksonville defense. Cousins went on to throw 22/33 for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cousins made zero mistakes and the Redskins put in work on the Jags. Cousins however would not comment on taking over. He claims it is still RG3’s team, but we beg to differ.
“This is Robert’s team,” Cousins told reporters after Sunday’s win. “My job is to be the backup quarterback, and if called upon to come in and play, then I better play and help this team win. That job doesn’t change. This is Robert’s team.”
All I can say is this, the Redskins are very smart that the never traded Kirk Cousins, because he will be a true leader for the Redskins for many years to come.
