Cowboys finally part ways with Matt Johnson to get to 75
Today the Dallas Cowboys made a bunch of moves to get to 75 players. The team placed Ben Gardner the teams 7th rounder on the I/R and Amobi Okoye on the NFI list, while waiving a bunch of others.
The team also waived DeVonte Holloman, safety Matt Johnson, whose back injury might have been the final straw in a series of injuries that halted the 2012 fourth-round pick’s career before it really started. Tight end Jordan Navjar, cornerback Justin Green and cornerback Johnny Thomas were also waived-injured on Tuesday. Justin Green was the guy that Dallas received in exchange for Ben Bass.
Wide receiver Chris Boyd, punter Tom Hornsey, long snapper Casey Kreiter, defensive end Adewale Ojomo and guard Wayne Tribue were all waived and quarterback Caleb Hanie has been released.
