Patriots defensive end retires today at the age of 23
The New England Patriots defensive lineman announced his retirement on Wednesday. Armstead, 23, signed with the Patriots last year after a good season with the CFL.
Armstead, who went undrafted out of USC after suffering a heart attack in 2011, missed last season after developing an infection following a surgery unrelated to his heart.
