Cris Carter knows a thing or two about messing up. His career was going down the wrong path very quickly in Philly, until Buddy Ryan released him. Buddy said the hardest thing in his NFL career was to do that, but it helped Cris Carter. The man became a Hall of Famer because of the move.
I feel for the kid…My situation was very, very similar. If I’m the Cleveland Browns — and it’s gut-wrenching for me to say this — I really think that the only thing that’s going to help the kid is if they release him.
While it is not the best idea for the team, it is the best idea for the player. Josh Gordon needs to hit rock bottom, he is still not there.
