Mike Tomlin knows the Pittsburgh Steelers have only hired three coaches in the last 45 years, and he also knows that the organization hasn’t had three straight non-winning seasons since the stretch from 1969 to 1971. If the team has a losing season this year they are hit, especially after back-to-back 8-8 campaigns, But Tomlin would never take his job for granted.
“I don’t assume that,” Tomlin told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review about his job security. The crazy thing is the team has three former head coaches on their staff. Tomlin joked around saying he hooes he doesn’t join those guys.
“Hopefully (when the season ends), I’m not one of them,” Tomlin said.
