Grading the Draft: Cincinnati Bengals edition
Sports Ruckus writer Justin Walters has graded the entire AFC North, and while some Bengals fans might not like his grading, he has some very valid points. Let’s see what the Bengals finished with.
Don’t call them the Bungles anymore. Cincy is coming off of a division title and have built a team that has the talent to compete at a high level in the AFC. The Bengals made solid picks and hit most of their needs. I would have liked them to grab a DT, with Geno Atkins coming off knee surgery. Also maybe a more explosive DE to make up for the loss of Micheal Johnson.
Darqueze Dennard CB
Jeremy Hill RB
Will Clarke DE
Russell Bodine C
AJ McCarron QB
Marquis Flowers LB
James Wright WR
Lavelle Westbrooks CB
Getting Dennard at 24 was a steal, they had to be surprised he was still available.
Dennard is physical and has good technique, he should step right in for Bengals injury prone CBS.
McCarron is a perfect backup for Dalton. He is smart and is a winner.
Hill is a power runner who should take Green-Ellis spot and should form a great tandem with Giovani Bernard.
Bodine is a tough center who plays angry.
FINAL GRADE: Cincinnati Bengals – B-
