Canadian League is interested in Michael Sam if he does not make the NFL
While Michael Sam might be in the NFL right now, he might not ultimately make the roster in Saint Louis. If that happens at least one Canadian Football team will be in the running for Sam’s services. According to SI’s Peter King, the Montreal Allouettes are very interested in Michael Sam if the NFL does not work.
Michael Sam is on the Montreal Alouettes’ negotiating list, and GM Jim Popp wants him if he doesn’t stick in St. Louis. Popp told our Jenny Vrentas: “He has the skill set to rush the passer and he is not your prototypically sized guy rushing the passer in the NFL. He would be a great fit for the CFL if it doesn’t work [in St. Louis].”
Michael Sam will be facing an uphill battle, but look at the bright side, at least he has a fall back option.
