Buccaneers could be a landing spot for former Bear Idonije

Today the Chicago Bears released DL Israel Idonije, is a very solid run stuffer but he could be headed to Tampa where his former coach Lovie Smith is.

Idonije’s Bears reunion ended up lasting three months. Idonije spent 2004-2012 in the Windy City before appearing in 15 games for the Lions last season. He ended up playing just 347 defensive snaps, notching only 0.5 sacks in the process.

He became expendable depth after the Bears drafted DTs Ego Ferguson and Will Sutton on Day 2, but could be a very good rotational player in Lovie Smith’s defense.

Idonije could be a very solid signing by the Bucs.
