Texans claim a wide receiver off the waiver wire to fill in for Andre Johnson’s absence

The Houston Texans have an open wide receiver position at OTA’s since Andre Johnson is holding out, but today they filled that.  The team was awarded rookie receiver Kofi Hughes off waivers.

Hughes had been signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent on May 15. He was waived by the team on Tuesday.

Hughes caught 47 passes for 739 yards and seven touchdowns in his final season at the Indiana University last fall. Hughes ended his career with 132 receptions for 1,956 yards and 13 touchdowns in 45 career games for the Hoosiers.
