Houston Texans are on the verge of trading for Ryan Mallett?
According to NBC Sports’ Tom Curran, the Houston Texans have engaged in trade talks with the New England Patriots, centered around backup quarterback Ryan Mallett, who played for current Texans head coach Bill O’Brien.
O’Brien was offensive coordinator of the Patriots when Mallett was drafted 74th overall in 2012.
A few moments after saying the talks were on going, Curran tweeted out this:
Second source says nothing doing at the moment on Mallett to Houston. We’ll watch how it plays out. Makes sense if Clowney is No. 1.—
