Are the Dallas Cowboys throwing in the towel for the 2014 season?
I know the Dallas Cowboys fans do not want to admit it, but do you really feel that DeVonte Holloman can fill the void of Sean Lee better than a veteran linebacker that is out on the waivers, ala Jonathan Vilma, or Will Witherspoon? Shoot even Nick Barnett is a major upgrade over Devonte Holloman, but it makes you really wonder what the Cowboys management is thinking.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday on NFL Total Access that the Cowboys — at this point — don’t plan on bringing in outside veterans to compete for Lee’s middle linebacker position.
The team will attempt to fill the void from within with options like DeVonte Holloman, Anthony Hitchens andJustin Durant. Dallas’ plan is to give those players snaps, judge their progress, then evaluate where to go next.
If the team does not look to at least bring in another person to compete for the starting spot, it makes you feel the team is throwing in the towel for the 2014 season. Let’s face it, Jason Garrett is going to need a miracle to keep his job.
