Today Dr. James Andrews cleared former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice for football activity. This is great news for some very needy teams at the wide receiver position. One team that makes too much sense to land Sidney Rice is the Carolina Panthers. The team has signed mediocre wide out after mediocre wide out, and Sidney Rice could come in and assist the team right now.
Since Rice played his college ball in South Carolina, I am sure he would love to return home to play for the Panthers. Now that Rice has the green light, he’s expected to waste no time choosing his next NFL home.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported a month ago that the Jets, Seahawks and Saints have some level of interest in the 27-year-old. According to ProFootballTalk, the Panthers and Giants are also in the mix.
