Eagles have small school linebacker Jordan Tripp in for a visit

According to ESPN, Jordan Tripp the former Montana linebacker has a pre-draft visit today with the Philadelphia Eagles. Tripp is not arrogant but he is a very confident player, and he should be.  Tripp told FoxSports.com that he feels his is top tier cover linebacker.

“I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I believe that I’m the most versatile linebacker in this draft,” Tripp told FoxSports.com. “I believe I can run and cover better than any linebacker in this draft.”

The Eagles were also one of 12 NFL teams who attended Montana’s pro day last month.

“I just want to come in and contribute right away, and I believe that I can,” Tripp told FoxSports.com. “I know I can be an impact player right away. I just need a team to fall in love with me and I’ll get that opportunity.”

Tripp has great hands and is definitely the best inside linebacker from the FCS.  Montana is a very solid division 1AA team, and even though it is not an SEC team or an ACC team, Tripp can hang with the big boys.  He proved it at the Reeses Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama in January.  Tripp was killing his competition and really shined the entire week.

“I think it’s funny that people want to do that,” Tripp told FoxSports.com about where he might project in the NFL draft. “The reason I’m not a first-round pick is because I didn’t play at Alabama or Texas. I don’t think it matters where you play. Everyone who plays football puts their pants on one leg at a time, and you just go play football.”
