Today the Detroit Lions are hosting one of the best tight ends in the entire 2014 NFL Draft. C.J. Fiedorowicz the former Iowa wide out caught 26 passes for 253 yards and led the team with six touchdowns last year.
At 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, Fiedorowicz is a proven big-school player who thrived in the ultra-physical Big Ten Conference. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds at the NFL scouting combine, bench pressing 225 pounds 25 times with a 31.5-inch vertical leap and a 9-8 broad jump.
The Lions are hoping Brandon Pettigrew can show up, but at this point, his days in D-Town could be numbered. Fiedorowicz could be a very solid addition to the Lions with Fauria, but I highly doubt the team drafts him in the 2nd where he is projected to fall.
