The San Francisco 49ers are definitely going to need a cornerback, and let’s face it they might not have much to offer when it comes to salary cap, but Darrelle Revis is a different story. Why is that you might ask?
Well Darrelle Revis has never played on a contender, and the 49ers can offer that for Revis. They might not have the most money, but Revis does not really need that money technically. If the Bucs release him on Wednesday, he was scheduled to make 16 million, plus an additional 1 million from the Jets in guaranteed money. Revis has never been on a team that offers a chance to win a ring, and that is what the Niners can offer. They can also offer the opportunity to stick it to Richard Sherman twice a year, since they would be in the same conference.
I am not saying it would happen, but this could be a great opportunity for the aging Revis and the CB needy Niners.
