The Oakland Raiders have been known in the past as the joke of the NFL over the past several years, but lately under new management and Reggie McKenzie they have truly been pretty amazing. Going into this year the team has around 60 plus million dollars to spend in free agency, and they are going all in this year. While people might look at the Raiders as a push over they were very competitive last year.
I understand the Raiders fans being upset with the direction of the team, because I can cope (Bills fan), but at the end of the day the Raiders have made some pretty solid decisions lately. The team is going to spend money in free agency and I would not be surprised to see them make a very good push to get this team over the hump. The team has a sense of direction and you can notice it.
Today might be the first time I agree with something the team is reportedly saying to the media about Derek Carr, as a better option than Johnny Manziel.
According to multiple reports the Oakland Raiders have become the latest team to list draft quarterback Derek Carr of Fresno State Bulldogsahead of Texas A&M Aggies prospect Johnny Manziel.
An NFL source recently claimed that the Cleveland Browns were hoping to draft Carr over Manziel, and now reports in the Californian press claim that the Raiders are doing the same.
“The Raiders are known for their unconventional picks, so Manziel might seem like a natural fit for them,” the Los Angeles Times’ Sam Farmer said in a report.
This is great news for Raiders fans, but I highly doubt the team will draft a quarterback with the fifth pick. I honestly would not be surprised to see them go after Michael Vick in free agency and draft the best player available. I know Raiders fans are anxious, but be patient because your GM has you on the right page. TRUST ME…
