Draft Diamonds Prospect Interview: Monte Gaddis, LB, Towson
Monte Gaddis has been the backbone and one of the main leaders in the Tigers secondary for the past several years.  Monte Gaddis might not be the biggest player on the field, but he always seems to have the biggest heart. This year Monte led the Tigers to the FCS Championship game with 117 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and 2 interceptions. I love this kid and his motor, he just doesn’t understand quitting.
How many teams were recruiting you out of high school?

Mainly all the MAC schools, D1aa’s and D2

Where did you choose and why?

I choose to walk on at the University of Maryland because I felt I could make an impact on the team and play as a freshman to earn the scholarship.

What are your goals for your senior year?

Win the National Championship and open many eyes

Have any scouts met with you, and if so what are they saying?

Most are saying I will be lucky to get my name called, but I will prove them wrong on pro day

At your position, what separates you from the others?

My leadership and motor

Tell us what you look for when breaking down film?
I watch film by formations, personnel and tendencies. I try to remember the plays by formation and down and distance.
Who was the toughest player you have ever faced?

Brock Jensen QB from North Dakota State

If you could compare your play to one person in the NFL who would it be?

London Fletcher

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

Attending Dean Junior College but I made the best out of it and learned from my past academic mistakes

What system fits your style of play the best?

Any

What is your biggest strength?

Leadership

What is your biggest weakness?

Height

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I would want him to know nothing was given to me in life, I have earned everything. And I am willing to earn my spot on the 53 man roster and out work the man next to me to be able to make an impact on the team and help win by any means.

Growing up, who was your role model?

My mother, she is the strongest and most caring person I know

Who was your favorite team in the NFL and why?

Cleveland Browns is my hometown team

What was the most tragic event that ever happened in your life and how did you overcome it?
Getting dismissed from the University of Maryland due to my academic failure. I overcame it by  getting a 3.2 GPA at Dean College and earning a full scholarship to Towson University.
If you were to have dinner with three people dead or alive who would it be?

President Obama, and both of my grandmothers

With your first paycheck what would you buy?

I would pay off my college loans
