While many believe that Peyton Manning or Tom Brady are the best quarterbacks in the league, I want to know where Drew Brees ranks in this discussion. Drew Brees has all the cards stacked against him, but he somehow continues to get the job done. This year when passing the ball over 15 yards, Brees is the best quarterback in the league. Let’s not forget that Sunday Brees hit the 5,000 mark for the 4th time in his career in a single season. Brees has better numbers than Brady right now, and he will probably pass Manning’s marks, but are we overlooking the best quarterback?
Drew Brees was 6-of-8 on passes traveling 15 or more yards downfield Sunday, setting season highs with 235 yards and three touchdowns on such passes. Brees now has an NFL-best 17 touchdowns on passing over 15 yards even with his recent struggles.
