Packers will play Pittsburgh with 51 players; still have two open spots

Today the Green Bay Packers placed defensive tackle Johnny Jolly and tight end Brandon Bostick on injured reserve.

The crazier thing is the team did not add anyone to the roster to replace them, according to Saturday’s NFL transactions page.

That means the Packers will take 51 players into Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers but will only have to declare five players inactive to get down to the 46-man game day roster.

Expect them the activate two practice squad guys or add guys on Monday.
