Detroit Lions have a lot to play for Sunday and they catch a break with Adrian Peterson out

Jim Schwartz did not want to discuss his job status for almost the entirety of this week, despite the fact that it was the hottest topic surrounding the Detroit Lions after they were eliminated from the playoffs last Sunday. Instead, he wanted to keep the focus on Detroit’s season finale against Minnesota, another franchise going through a disappointing season that could end with a coaching search.

Adrian Peterson has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, meaning that the star running back will miss the Minnesota Vikings’ final game at Mall of America Field. The Vikings announced that Peterson had been downgraded from doubtful to out on their official Twitter account Saturday afternoon.

It will be interesting to see if the Lions players show up against the Vikings.  Hopefully the Lions will go out with a bang and really crush the Vikings.  It will be interesting to see how the Lions play their game finale.
