Chargers become the sixth team to make the playoffs after starting 5-7 or worse
San Diego Chargers need to be thankful for Philip Rivers and head coach Mike McCoy, because they started clicking at the right time. With the win on Sunday the Chargers did something that only 6 other teams have done including themselves in 2008 and 1995.
The Chargers are the 6th team under the current playoff format to make the playoffs after starting 5-7 or worse through 12 games. They are the first to do it since the Chargers in 2008. Of the 6 teams to do it, 3 have been Chargers squads.
