The Giants placed running back Brandon Jacobs on season-ending injured reserve, two days after a knee injury kept him out for a second straight game.
Jacobs finished the season with 238 yards rushing and four touchdowns — most among Giants running backs — and two receptions for 13 yards in seven games.
Jacobs was a breathe of fresh air at the running back position when he returned. He was the first Giants back to rumble for a hundred yards. Jacobs presence worked to get the Giants going, but the team will now need to rely on Peyton Hillis and Andre Brown.
