Should the Vikings just let Adrian Peterson sit a week to rest?

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson missed his second straight day of practice on Thursday, sitting out with a strained groin. But Peterson, who has played the last two games with the injury and carried 32 times last Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, seems likely to play this week against the Chicago Bears.

Peterson has said he will play through the injury, and shot down the idea of taking a week or two off to rest it when he was asked about it last week. He missed the first two days of practice before the Packers game, as well, and did some work on Friday before the game. It would seem likely Peterson will do the same thing this week, but even if he sits out again, the chances of him sitting out seem small.

I honestly don’t get why the Vikings continue to play him if he is not a 100 percent.  The last thing the team needs is losing their best player in a season that is over for them anyway?  I am not sure I would let AP play, especially when you have nothing to play for.
