Eric Pike is a big boy standing at 6’5 and weighing in at 298 pounds.  He is an outstanding offensive lineman who is a fourth-year starter at left tackle and one of the Tigere co-captains this season. At the beginning of this season Pike had started in every game since his freshman season with 34 starts at left tackle.  Towson running game has been special, because of Pike’s blocking ability.  Well we sat down with Eric for a Draft Diamonds Prospect Interview, and we hope you will all pay closer attention to the aggressive left tackle from Landover, Maryland. 
How many teams were recruiting you out of high school?6Where did you choose and why?

Towson; it was a good fit for me perfect distance from home but close enough if i had to get there for any reason, and my position coach clicked with me and i knew he would help me elevate my game.

What are your goals for your senior year?

Help lead my team to a National Title.

Have any scouts met with you, and if so what are they saying?

Not yet

At your position, what separates you from the others?

My cerebral process, and situational awareness in understanding what defenses are trying to do. Tell us what you look for when breaking down film?Defense base alignment, scouting DE’s i will be up against to find both strengths and weakness, any tendencies they show when bringing pressure, keys to unlocking their pressure schemes, how they look to defend both run and pass, how they play with the lead and behind along with anything else that can be used to help get the edge in what defense’s are trying to do post snap before we snap the ball.

Who was the toughest player you have ever faced?

So far in my career Sam Montgomery from LSU

If you could compare your play to one person in the NFL who would it be?

Jermon Bushrod share both same school and position coach John Donatelli.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

Replacing myself every year I’ve played with a better me, i have always stayed hungry to grow and continue improve in the details, and techniques of my craft and never been complacent.

What system fits your style of play the best?

At Towson we are multiple in our scheme so id believe any.

What is your biggest strength?

My cerebral process, and Protecting the QB.

What is your biggest weakness?

I could always grow in my understanding of defense’s and body strength.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I’m committed to greatness and bringing it out of those around me.

Growing up, who was your role model?

Grandfather still is.

Who was your favorite team and player in the NFL and why?

Eagles and Brain Westbrook

What was the most tragic event that ever happened in your life and how did you overcome it?

Not being selected to continue in the post season last year, we’ve decided to take it out of the hands of judges and Leave No Doubt for the fate of this years season.

If you were to have dinner with three people dead or alive who would it be?

My mom, my brother, and my sister

With your first paycheck what would you buy?
