Zeke is 178 yards from the rookie rushing title; His owner feels he can still get it
Ezekiel Elliott is 178 yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson’s rookie rushing title, and one person believes he can still break it. That person is his owner Jerry Jones.
While I love records being broke, I think the Cowboys need to sit him and let him rest. Look at the Raiders and the Titans. Both of their quarterbacks are now out and injured. If the Cowboys lost Ezekiel Elliott they would have a big fall off at the running back position. Jerry Jones believes the record is still within reach, this is what he said:
“I thought when he broke that long run, we were possibly in for a longer night with him,” owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday in his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan (h/t USA Today Sports). “I thought McFadden coming in – he had some juice to those fresh legs, so we’ll probably be pretty reasonable with how we approach that thing.
“We’ll see how it goes. He certainly will play and will play a lot, but you can never tell. He might find a good running situation up there and he may approach that record.”
What do you think? Should the Cowboys sit him?
