A Chautauqua County, New York high school football player died today after being in critical condition Monday morning, after a serious helmet-to-helmet collision during a game on Friday night. 16-year-old Damon Janes was a running back for the Westfield-Brocton football team. The junior sustained a serious injury at Friday night’s away game against Portville. Janes reportedly lost consciousness after a collision in the third quarter. The teen was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit at Women and Children’s hospital.

Damon W. Janes, 16, a Junior who attended Brocton Central School, lost his fight and went to be with the Lord following his injury resulting from helmet-to-helmet collision during a Westfield/Brocton varsity football game.
His parents wish to express their gratitude to those who have supported and prayed for Damon and his family, and continue to request that their privacy be respected at this time.
