The Houston Texans may be getting more than just a little boost back on their roster this year, they may be getting a miracle.  David Quessenberry the former Texans draft pick, is trying to make a return to the Texans roster.

According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, Texans coach Bill O’Brien said it was a “possibility” that guard David Quessenberry could return to the field this year after battling cancer.

Former San Jose State player David Quessenberry is back working out with his Houston Texas teammates. Every day the offensive tackle goes to the Texans facility in Houston, works out, runs, lifts and attends meetings.

“I’m getting better,” he told ESPN.com. “It’s an exciting feeling when you can really feel your body getting stronger every day, you can feel yourself getting into better shape every day. That’s exciting. … I’m working on gaining weight back, gaining strength back, explosiveness back, stamina back, speed back. All that.”

That would be a huge boost, for many reasons. He announced he was in remission in February, but there’s a big gulf between well and well enough to play competitively in the NFL.
