Seattle Seahawks have three of the top 12 players in NFL merchandise sales
Russell Wilson now is the top ranked NFL player in merchandise sales, according to a release by NFL Players, Inc., passing the Denver Broncos quarterback for the spot. Wilson had the most merchandise sales from March 1, 2013 through Feb. 28, 2014. Manning is No. 2 and San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick is No. 3.
Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch is number seven on the merchandise list. The top 6 all are quarterbacks — Washington’s Robert Griffin III is fourth, Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers fifth and New England’s Tom Brady is sixth. Lynch is the only non-quarterback in the top 10.
When it comes to defense, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is No. 12 on the top-50 list, the first defensive back and the second defensive player. Houston defensive lineman J.J. Watt was one spot ahead of Sherman at number 11.
