Pittsburgh Steelers fought very hard and had all their ducks falling in a row until San Diego

Today Big Ben Roethlisberger passed for 179 yards and a touchdown against two interceptions as Pittsburgh (8-8) won its third straight to avoid the franchise’s first losing season since 2003. The victory also continued a furious second-half rally by the Steelers, who went 6-2 over the season’s final eight weeks to fuel an improbable run at the AFC’s final postseason spot.

“Guys just kept fighting,” Steelers defensive end Cam Heyward said. “Wasn’t anything glorious or something beautiful, we just came out of nowhere.”

The Steelers knew that they still had a chance to get to the playoffs but they would need the Kansas City Chiefs to really pull of a win against the Chargers.  Kansas City had the Chargers on the ropes but missed an easy chip shot field goal.  I personally wondered if the Chiefs did that on purpose, because the Steelers would have been a hard team to stop once they made the playoffs.  Well either way, the Chargers came up with the win which ultimately knocked the Chargers out of the race.  The Steelers fought very well this year after a forgettable beginning.  Next year I am sure there will be some changes, but not as many as people think.
