NFL Draft Diamonds 2016 Small School Rankings 4.0

1st Round

Carson Wentz – QB – North Dakota State University – The 6’6 gunslinger from Bismark, North Dakota has all the tools to be a professional quarterback. He is athletic, stands in the pocket and delivers his passes with velocity. Could be the first quarterback taken in the draft. We predicted this in May, but it has come full circle. The kid is special and maybe the Browns best fit at #2. He will be the NFL Draft’s biggest steal.

Noah Spence – OLB – Eastern Kentucky/Ohio State – Noah Spence is 6’3 and weighs 247 pounds. He was going to turn pro last year, but someone smart was able to get in his ear and talk him into playing another year. The Redshirt Junior Spence has flashed talent on film, but his off the field concerns will be the problem. He could sneak into the first round, so we are going to keep him here.

3rd Round

Joe Haeg – OT – North Dakota State University – Haeg is a 6’6, 299 pound blocker that has great feet, and plays nasty. Haeg is a run blocker with a mean streak. In his career he has helped protect numerous Bison who made it to the NFL. Haeg is a special talent and could go higher than this projection as well. NFL Draft Prospects from NDSU seem to pan out.

Javon Hargrave – DT – South Carolina State University – Javon Hargrave aka Hollywood has been impressive this year. The 6’1, 300 pound defensive tackle is double and triple teamed and he is still making plays. He is probably the best HBCU prospect to come out over the past 10 years.

Miles Killebrew – SS – Southern Utah – Killebrew is probably one of our favorite prospects in the entire draft. Killebrew stands at 6’3 and weighs 230 pounds. The senior from Henderson, Nevada plays with passion and hits harder than many linebackers in the FBS.

De’Andre Houston –Carson – FS – William & Mary – De’Andre is a 6’2 safety from Woodford, Virginia. Houston-Carson is a playmaker that reminds me of Justin Bethel from the Cardinals. He had three straight games with a blocked punt last year. He is a Special teams ace that NFL teams will adore.

4th Round

Deiondre Hall – CB – Northern Iowa – 6’2 corner that is all over the field and people are taking notice. He injured his hand this year but with a club is still intercepting passes. Hall is a shutdown corner in the FCS, and will definitely get a shot in the NFL.

5th Round

Harlan Miller – CB -Southeastern Louisiana – Harlan Miller is a 6’ foot corner that the NFL has turned to love. Miller is a ball hawk who is at the top of the FCS in interceptions and pass break ups. The Kentwood, Louisiana senior has big play ability and NFL teams will love that.

James Bradberry – CB – Samford – Bradberry had a huge week at the Senior Bowl. He is a special talent and the 6′ corner is very aggressive. NFL teams are going to fall in love with this kid. He is a playmaker with ball hawking skills.

Victor Ochi – OLB – Stony Brook – Ochi is a smart kid studying Health Science for the Seawolves. The 6’2, 255 pound outside backer has a niche to getting to the quarterback. In 2014, he had four sacks against New Hampshire and their high powered offense. Ochi is a very solid pass rusher.

6th Round

Marqui Christian – SS – Midwestern State – Many NFL scouts have contacted me about this kid. I went over his film and boy is he a very good sleeper. Christian hits hard, has good ball skills and is a sound tackler. He could be a late round steal.

Michael Jordan – CB – Missouri Western – A few years ago his brother Reggie entered the NFL and was signed by the Jaguars as a free agent. Michael is a playmaker. The D2 corner was called the best cornerback in the division by over 5 coaches in the MIAA I spoke too. Jordan is special and will have a good pro day.

Marshaun Coprich – RB – Illinois State – At 5’8 many see Marshaun Coprich as an undersized player. I however see a stud running back with a bright future. Coprich is a hard runner that always ends up on the Walter Payton Award Watch List. Coprich did have an arrest before the season, but after talking with him, I know he made a dumb mistake.

Paul McRoberts – WR – Southeast Missouri – A 6’3 wide out from St. Louis, Missouri that somehow, flew under the radar. McRoberts has big play capability and is the number one receiver in the division.

Beau Sandland – Montana State/Miami – Beau will be headed to the Combine and this kid is a freak. I think he may be the best small school tight end out there. He will fly up draft boards because he can play at a very high level.

Cole Toner – OT – Harvard– Toner is a very solid starting offensive tackle and is athletic for a big guy. Toner is a guy that has NFL potential and is good in both run and pass protection.

LaMichael Fanning – DE – Jacksonville State/Alabama – LaMichael Fanning suffered a season ending knee injury this year, but he is a talented player still. He does have several red flags, and with the injury and red flags I would expect him to be at the Combine.

DeVaunte Sigler –DT – Jacksonville State/Auburn – Sigler was dismissed from Auburn for a violation of team rules. He will have to answer those questions from NFL teams, but the massive defensive tackle has been pretty solid for JSU. He is 6’4 and 291 pounds, so he will interest someone.

LeShaun Sims – CB – Southern Utah – The senior from Las Vegas, Nevada has tons of NFL teams talking about him. He is a true 6’ foot corner with great hips. At 200 pounds he is not afraid to hit someone. Sims is an NFL cornerback, and I could see his stock rising

Moritz Boehringer – WR – Schwabisch Hall – This kid is a very good prospect, and while he is from Germany, we have to list him on our site.

7th Round

Luke Rhodes – ILB – William & Mary – Luuuukkkee is the noise NFL teams should be making for the 6’1, 242 pound hardnosed backer. Rhodes plays the game with tons of energy and can make plays in the running game as well as passing game.

James Cowser – DE – Southern Utah – The 6’4, 258 pound defensive end will need to put on a couple pounds, but man is he fast around the edge. The long haired barbarian Broke the Big Sky Conference record in tackles for loss with 28.5 held by Jared Allen. #Freak

Greg Milhouse – DT – Campbell – Milhouse had a dominate week at the NFLPA Game and this kid is going to make an NFL roster. He is very similar to Javon Hargrave who is also in this draft class. The team that misses out on Hargrave may want to take a swing on this kid.

Tyrone Holmes – DE – Montana – Holmes is hands down the best pass rusher in the FCS from the DE position. He is the FCS sack leader and has a great shot at getting taken late by an NFL team. He is a very good pass rusher with good moves.

Ben Braunecker – Harvard – Ben was given a Senior Bowl invite and will likely be headed to the Combine. He is a good player, and I think a team will take a shot on him late in the draft. 

Temmarick Hemingway – South Carolina State – Hemingway could surprise quite a bit of people. The kid is a game changer. He was not targeted many times at SCSU, and he could be a kid that develops into a huge target like that of Giants tight end Will Tye from Stony Brook.

Matt Judon – LB – Grand Valley State University – The 6’3 pass rusher Judon is a very solid edge rusher that has a knack for getting to the quarterback. Judon has 18 sacks this year and has a very quick first step.

Jonathan Woodard – DE – Central Arkansas – The 6’6, 271 pound defensive end from Central Arkansas is one of the best players in the Southland Conference. Woodard has been double and triple teamed all year after winning defensive player of the year last year.

Jamaal Jones – WR – Montana – Jones was overlooked but that Montana offense put up ridiculous stats.  I love this kid, and many teams will too. Both Jones and Ellis Henderson will be leaving school this year. This could be a very solid steal for a team late.

Nick Richter – Richmond – The 6’5 offensive tackle is flying up boards. NFL teams really like this kid. He could be a sleeper later in the draft.  Richter has a mauler mentality and that will attract teams because he is very solid at run blocking.

Clay Debord – OT – Eastern Washington – People are sleeping on this kid. He is a 6’6, 305 pound offensive tackle from Asotin, Washington. Coming into his senior year he had 27 career starts which is the most of any offensive player on their unit. He is a special player that gives the high powered offense time to operate.

David Onyemata – DE – Manitoba (Canada) – He dominated the East/West Shrine Game and if he honestly wants to play in the NFL he will be on a roster. He is very solid like Stefan Charles a few years back from Regina.

Ugonna Awuruonye – DE – Campbell – I talked to NFL personnel that feel he may be the biggest freak in the entire draft. A physical specimen that overpowers his competition at Campbell.
