New York Giants finally have options at the running back position

Today Brandon Jacobs returned to practice and appears set to return after missing two games with a hamstring injury, and Coughlin is excited to have him back.

Coughlin finally has options going into Sunday’s matchup with the Raiders, who are sixth in the NFL against the run allowing a touch under 100 yards per game. He won’t be going in with a wait-and-see approach.

“There will be a set plan,” Coughlin said.

Hillis will be a big part of Sunday’s plan. He played well in his first two games with the Giants, the only two games they’ve won this season. He ran for 106 yards and a touchdown in those games, and proved reliable as a pass blocker. Hillis is expected to be the primary option with Jacobs and Brown sprinkled into the equation.
