Justin Houston plans on holding out; Will not sign the tender
The Kansas City Chiefs thought they would be fine by tagging Justin Houston the 26 year old pass rusher. That apparently is not true. According to multiple reports Houston will hold out.
@RapSheet: #Chiefs star LB Justin Houston will not sign his franchise tag any time soon. Don’t expect to see him for a while.
@ProFootballTalk: Per league source, Chiefs used non-exclusive tag on Justin Houston, which put him in play for other teams, in theory.
@ProFootballTalk: Justin Houston will consult with NFLPA to decide whether to file grievance on whether he’s a DE not an LB, per source.
Some feel he could hold out until at least week 10, which means he will miss the OTA’s if a new deal is not agreed upon.
