What is your name?

Johnny Ragin III

What is your Height/Weight?

6’3/234

What is your position?

MLB/OLB

Where do you play college football?

The University of Oregon

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

A mission trip to The Dominican Republic. Myself and other student-athletes at The University of Oregon built a multipurpose court in the community of Batey Siete during the summer of 2015. It was a life changing experience.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

Econ 327 (Game Theory) with Mike Urbancic. It was rough, but I was able to pull through with a B+.

Where are you from?

Born in Miami, FL and grew up in Wilsonville, OR.

Who is your role model, and why?

My mom. She’s an amazing woman and an incredibly hard worker. She’s the one who initially introduced me to the world of sports.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Yeah, I played them all: Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, and Track.

Did you play any other positions in football?

Yeah, I also played Safety, RB, WR, and FB.

At your position, what separates you from others?

My instinct, my knowledge for the game, my motor and my work ethic

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

Personnel groups, tendencies out of those personnel groups, alignments, my opponents’ eyes (if they’re peeking to where they’re going), splits (OL and WR’s), and any other indicators that will give me an advantage in the game.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

McCaffrey; he’s shifty and elusive, with good speed.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

I’d have to say a mix between Mychal Kendricks and Von Miller. I study a lot of their film, so I guess you could say I try to model my play after them, to some extent

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

The passing of my father. Even though it was difficult, I stayed positive and kept working towards my goals like he would’ve wanted me to.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

Pre-game shower is a must.

What is your biggest strength?

My work ethic, and my ability to lead and communicate.

What is your biggest weakness?

My patience; I could let plays develop a little more before I pull the trigger.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

You’re getting a worker, a leader, and someone who is going to make plays to help our team win games on defense and on special teams.

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?

Growing up, I liked watching the Dolphins, and The 49ers.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

Jesus, my mom, and my dad.

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

I’m going to pay off my moms mortgage, and then plan on getting a 2017 Carbon Black Package Cadillac CTS-V Sedan.
