Where do you play college football?

Southern Nazarene University 

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

Getting to help a community in Moore, Ok with their tornado relief efforts. We helped clean out back yards and removed larger pieces of debris from people’s property.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

Microbiology my Sophomore year.

Where are you from?

Allen, Texas

Who is your role model, and why?

I have different role models for different areas of my life. My mom is one that I look to in a lot of those areas by the way she treats others and carries herself.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Basketball, Baseball and Wrestling.

Did you play any other positions in football?

Offensive Tackle  

At your position, what separates you from others?

My ability to play with relentless effort until the whistle blows regardless of the score or how long the drive is.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

What downs/situations defenses tend to blitz in. Key players and tendencies the DL and LB has to tip off slants, blitzes or gap exchanges. 

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Solomon Thomas in High School.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

T.J. Lang, his run blocking ability and how he improves every year. 

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

My height is a constant obstacle. I’ve been put behind people with “prototype” size but couldn’t do what was asked of them. Being able to complete my assignment consistently and have great effort, attitude and energy have helped me overcome that.

Pray on the field for my team and listening to music.

What is your biggest strength?

Locking on to my assignment and driving them until the whistle blows.

What is your biggest weakness?

Leaning too far while run blocking. 

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

I would tell the GM that I would be the hardest worker in their organization. I would be there early, stay late and did whatever it took to get on the field and have another day with that team. If he needed laundry done or a bathroom cleaned or the grass mowed, I’d do it.

Jonathan Ogden

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

My mom, Larry Allen and Johnny Cash

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

A new house for my parents.
