Green Bay Packers give Julius Peppers number 56
Julius Peppers will wear No. 56 with the Packers and is listed on the team’s official roster as a LB/DE. According to NFL rules, No. 56 may be worn by centers, linebackers and defensive linemen.
Previously, Peppers wore No. 90 for the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears during his 12-year NFL career. Defensive lineman B.J. Raji has worn No. 90 for the Packers throughout his five years with the team.
I personally feel that Raji should give Peppers the #90 jersey, because he has did nothing in his career to garnish the jersey over Peppers.
