Grading the Draft: Buffalo Bills edition
Sports Ruckus writer Justin Walters has graded the entire AFC East, and while some Bills fans might not like his grading, he has some very valid points. Let’s see what the Bills finished with.
Buffalo knew what player they wanted and pushed all of their Bills to the middle of the table and took a big gamble. Guess they are serious about making the playoffs this year. A first round pick for next year is a lot to give up, but Sammy Watkins is a special player that doesn’t come around often. The gambling didn’t stop there, they took 3 O linemen who could all be exceptional but could all be collecting cans in three years. Hey, it’s Risk-Reward, plus if the Bills don’t have a major improvement there will be a few other people without jobs soon.
Didn’t fully understand trading Stevie Johnson for a 4th rd pick but on the bright side the coaching staff can spread less time yelling at Stevie Johnson and actually coach the rest of the team. When it comes to the overall draft they took some chance but like they say with lotto, “You can’t win if you don’t play”. Way to go Buffalo!
Sammy Watkins WR
Cyrus Kouandjo OT
Preston Brown ILB
Ross Cockrell CB
Cyril Richardson G
Randall Johnson LB
Seantrel Henderson OT
Watkins is a special player, they gave up a lot to get him though
Kouandjo will start at OT, if healthy he could be a pro bowler
Richardson is a powerful run blocker who needs to improve his technique, especially in pass protection
Henderson has 1st round ability IF he can focus and stay out of trouble
