Former QB takes a shot at RG3; He has the skill set to be good, haven’t seen it in some time
Mark Brunell was a pretty solid NFL quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but as a commentator he is a bit more feisty. He was asked by the Washington Post about Robert Griffin III, and if he thought he was good enough to succeed as an NFL quarterback. Brunell held back no punches.
“I do not,” Brunell said, via The Washington Post. “From what I’ve seen the last couple of years — listen, he burst onto the scene and that was impressive — but like I said, he has gone backwards. It’s not just his decision-making, it’s his fundamentals. He’s taking too many hits, he’s quick to get out of the pocket. Last year was difficult to watch. Does he have the skill set? Yes, but we haven’t seen it in some time.”
RG3 has been bitten by the injury bug, so the former lefty Brunell made some good points. Do I think RG3 can succeed? I do, but he will need to get his confidence back. I feel he was handed the key to the city way to early, he has to go back and earn respect from others, that is not the hardest part, the hardest part is coming back to reality.
