Formations Fantasy Football Review: Green Bay Packers Edition

eddie lacyThe Green Bay Packers see the playoffs year after year. There are many players to have on your fantasy roster that will help you reach the playoffs year after year. From Aaron Rodgers to Jordy Nelson and beyond, there are numerous talented players to consider drafting this year.

Star: Eddie Lacy (RB) 13 Stats: 284 carries-1,178 yards-11 TDs, 35 receptions-257 yards

Why He’s a Star: Lacy put up great numbers during his first year in the NFL. I do not expect any sophomore slump this year. Lacy should have at least 1,200 yards rushing. He could also have up to 400 yards receiving and 12-14 total TDs. I would spend a first round pick on Lacy but also draft James Starks in the later rounds as a handcuff.

Avoid: Andrew Quarless (TE) 13 Stats: 32 catches-312 yards-2 TDs

Why to Avoid: Quarless is the starter at TE at the moment, but do not expect numbers that former TE Jermichael Finley created. Quarless does not have that talent level. Also, the team drafted Richard Rodgers, who could ultimately surpass him on the depth chart.
Sleeper: Jarrett Boykin (WR)
Why He’s A Sleeper: Boykin played more because of injuries to Randall Cobb, and he took full advantage of the situation. He is now third on the depth chart and should see his numbers rise. 800 yards and 6 TDs are realistic possibilities for Boykin.

IDP to Watch: Brad Jones (LB) 13 Stats: 60 tackles-24 assists-3 sacks

Why: The former seventh round pick from Colorado shined last year over his 12 games in the regular season. It would not be shocking to see Jones line up in more sub-packages. With the potential of being an every down linebacker, Jones should be at least a LB2.
