Draft Diamonds Prospect Interview: Bernard Reedy, WR, Toledo
How many teams were recruiting you out of high school?
I was heavily recruited by majority of all the top division 1 programs but none offered.
Where did you choose and why?
I chose Toledo because they stuck around through the whole process and was my only offer.
Have any scouts met with you, and if so what are they saying?
Yes I’ve met with several scouts and they all praise my versatility but questions my height and weight at times.
At your position, what separates you from the others?
What separates me is that I can play any type of style meaning I can double route you, hesitate and get you on intermediate routes, stretch the field on deep balls and block the defender all the way to the turf. Film doesn’t lie.
Tell us what you look for when breaking down film?
I look for tendencies and weaknesses. I love to study to see if a defender is tough or not because four quarters a long time to be banging every play.
Who was the toughest player you have ever faced?
Jimmie Ward
If you could compare your play to one person in the NFL who would it be?
Steve Smith
What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?
Overcoming the doubt of my height and weight. And I proved everyone wrong out of high school and college.
What system fits your style of play the best?
Any system that could use me in a variety of ways
What is your biggest strength?
Speed
What is your biggest weakness?
Hungry
Growing up, who was your role model?
My grandad
Who was your favorite team and player in the NFL and why?
No favorite team, Tim Tebow
What was the most tragic event that ever happened in your life and how did you overcome it?
Grandad passed away. Praying changes everything.
If you were to have dinner with three people dead or alive who would it be?
My Grandad, Mother, God
With your first paycheck what would you buy?
A garage for my mother house
