Chicago Bears sign former CFL longsnapper to a three year deal

Chicago Bears sign former CFL longsnapper to a three year deal

It is not a sexy pick, but let’s be real a long snapper is important. I was a field goal kicker and I could not have done it without him.  Well today the Chicago Bears signed a longsnapper to a three year contract. This is usually not considered news, but when a CFL player lands a deal in the NFL it should be noted.

Chad Rempel a former Montreal Alouettes longsnapper could now be considered a starter.  It is not easy to make it as a longsnapper, but you have to love that the guy has worked his tail off to get to the NFL.

Rempel reunites with former coach Marc Trestman in Chicago. His signing could signal veteran longsnapper Patrick Mannelly will not be back with the Bears in 2014. Mannelly has played 16 straight seasons in Chicago. Which is an amazing stat, if you ask a Chicago Bears fan he might not even know who Mannelly is…..
Now you see why we write an article on a longsnapper, Congrats Chad Rempel!
