Vikings will host free agent CB K’Waun Williams next week

K’Waun Williams will work out for the Vikings next week

Vikings are hosting former Browns cornerback K’Waun Williams next week according to multiple reports.

According to Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Vikings are doing their research on Williams and may be interested if he leaves scheduled trips to the Lions and Jets without a deal.

He has also had interest from the Saints, and 49ers as well.  If healthy he should not have a hard time finding a job. He is a ball player.

Adrian Peterson thinks the Giants are making interesting moves

Adrian Peterson talking about the Giants

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is due a $6 million roster bonus on March 11 on his way to having an $18 million cap hit for the 2017 season. Will the Vikings keep him? I doubt it, and he is already talking about other teams.

Adrian Peterson mentioned the Giants, Texans and Buccaneers as teams he would be interested in joining, and it seems his eyes are still on one of those teams.

Report: Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater could miss all of 2017?

According to Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater could miss the entire 2017 season as he continues recovery from a non contact knee injury.

Bridgewater, was injured in practice in August prior to the 2016 season, tearing his ACL and dislocating his knee while planting to throw a pass.

Doctors reportedly told the team he will need at least 19 months, which would mean he misses the entire season again.

Mike Zimmer is out for tonight’s game versus the Cowboys

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer could miss tonight's game

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer could miss tonight’s game

Mike Zimmer was scheduled to be in Minnesota tonight coaching his team against the Dallas Cowboys, but that all changed when he needed an emergency surgery on his eye last night.

“Mike Zimmer is having emergency eye surgery tonight,” general manager Rick Spielman said in a statement. “His status for coaching tomorrow’s game is uncertain. I have met with the coaches and players and we have a contingency plan in place if Mike is unable to coach against Dallas.”

It is interesting to see what the Vikings plan on doing tonight against the NFL’s best team in football.  I doubt they really have a chance anyway but what do I know?

UPDATE:

  • According to Speilman, Zimmer will not be available for Thursday night’s game against the Cowboys.

Thanksgiving Day: Vikings v. Lions Picks and Predictions, Inactives and Turkey Leg Awards

Getting benched worked for Matthew Stafford. It fired up the former Georgia Bulldog

Stafford will walk away today with a Turkey Leg

Today it is all about the Turkey Leg.  So at Draft Diamonds I thought we would bring our readers our Turkey Day Predictions for the Lions v. Vikings as well as the others.  Since the Lions and Vikings are early we will start there and continue on.

Lions are hard to play on Thanksgiving. It is their day when it comes to the NFL.  The Vikings are going to try to stop the Lions, but they will not be successful.  I am calling it, Lions win and they win BIG.

Lions 42 – Vikings 21

Here are today’s inactives for the Lions v. Vikings game:

Lions

  • LB DeAndre Levy, RB Justin Forsett, OL Joe Dahl, OL Cornelius Lucas, DL Khyri Thornton, S Don Carey, QB Jake Rudock.

Vikings

  • QB Taylor Heinicke, WR Stefon Diggs, CB Terence Newman, CB Marcus Sherels, OT Rashod Hill, DT Sharrif Floyd, DE Stephen Weatherly

With Stefon Diggs hurt and out, the Vikings will need the others to step up, and I don’t see that happening against the fired up Lions today.  The Lions wide outs Golden Tate and Marvin Jones along with quarterback Matthew Stafford walk away with the Turkey Leg.
