Rams have fired head coach Jeff Fisher

Jeff Fisher is out as the head coach of the Rams

Today the Los Angeles Rams fired head coach Jeff Fisher.  The move had to happen, because Fisher was losing his team.

Rams released this statement:

“Making a decision such as this – especially during the season – is one of the most difficult in sports,” said Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke. “I have great respect for Jeff as a coach, person, father and friend.

“He has worked tirelessly despite some challenging circumstances. He played an integral role in helping this team make history in returning the NFL to Los Angeles, and we always will be grateful for his commitment and dedication to our organization.

“However, this is the right time to make a change as our performance has not lived up to my or our fans’ expectations. We all are focused on improving as an organization and building a team that makes Los Angeles proud. Our mission is to celebrate a Super Bowl title with our fans in Los Angeles. Today is the first step to bringing us closer to that goal.”

Eric Dickerson will be mad; Jeff Fisher and Les Snead given contract extension by Rams

Rams have given Jeff Fisher and Les Snead a contract extension according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday on GameDay Morning the Los Angeles Rams signed the head coach to a two-year extension through 2018.

Per Rapoport, the deal was agreed to in the preseason and was signed during the season.

In addition, the Rams also have signed general manager Les Snead to a contract extension beyond 2017, a source informed of the situation told Rapoport.

Kevin Demoff said this to Steve Wyche about Jeff Fisher.

“Everybody will want to judge Jeff through the prism of just the record, but that’s totally unfair when you look at the set of circumstances he was handed this year,” Demoff said. “It was different than any team in the NFL.

“We moved halfway across the country, then had OTAs in Oxnard. Training camp was in Irvine, now we’re in Thousand Oaks. We moved coaches and players and families. To provide leadership and consistency, he’s done a model job.”

Rams won but the big question is will we see the Number 1 pick?

The first pick needs a chance to play

The first pick needs a chance to play

Case Keenum had a four game losing streak going before he faced the New York Jets this weekend.  The Rams won 9-6 and it was a horrible game unless you like kickers.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that rookie first-round pick Jared Goff could get his first NFL start as early as Week 11 if Keenum struggles again on Sunday, and he did just that. The Rams reportedly want Goff to make his first pro start at home, and the team will face the Miami Dolphins in L.A. next weekend.

The only problem is Jeff Fisher though Case Keenum played well.

Keenum was 17-for-30 with just 165 yards against the Jets. He was sacked three times. Ironically, the Rams are undefeated when Keenum throws 30 or fewer pass attempts.

Though he has not yet made his NFL debut, Goff is already owned in more fantasy football leagues than Keenum. He had a quarterback rating of 72.2 today against New York.

Rams defensive back arrested for DUI (Drug Related)

Rams defense is suffering again. Rams defensive back T.J. McDonald was charged with driving under the influence for drugs.

Rams defensive back T.J. McDonald charged with one count of driving under the influence of drugs, a decision tied to McDonald’s arrest in May in Woodland Hills.

The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office announced its decision to file charges Friday afternoon. McDonald has an Oct. 7 arraignment in Van Nuys and, if found guilty of the misdemeanor, could face a maximum penalty of six months in county jail and a $1,000 fine, according to the LA Daily.

Rams will keep Case Keenum as the starter after horrid performance

Rams have signed QB Case Keenum

Case Keenum is still the starter, I don’t know how though….

Last night the Los Angeles Rams did not look good on either side of the ball. They made the San Francisco 49ers look like the Super Bowl Champions. Blaine Gabbert had like 100 yards on the ground and the Rams could not stop either Carlos Hyde or Shaun Draughn.

This season is still long from over, but it seems like the Rams are going to keep Jeff Fisher as their starting QB for now…..
