Branden Albert is staying the night in J-Ville; Deal could come tomorrow

Branden Albert will stay the night tonight in Jacksonville and the former All Pro are expected to work out a deal.

According to Ian Rapoport, Julius Thomas was traded for a seventh rounder in 2017. He even re-structured his deal.

If the Jaguars can get the same type deal for Albert they hit the jackpot.

Jaguars trade TE Julius Thomas to Dolphins for late round pick

The Miami Dolphins have a new tight end and he was acquired for little to nothing.

Today the Jaguars traded the Dolphins the All Pro tight end for a 2017 NFL Draft Pick. He even was willing to take a major pay cut to join Adam Gase and the Phins.

Thomas had his best years under Gase in Denver. Thomas is a great signing by the Phins.

Jaguars have released DE Jared Odrick making him a free agent

Jared Odrick was paid last off-season by the Jaguars and this off-season he was axed.

Odrick was in Domincan Republic when he was informed of the release.

His agent David Canter posted this on his official Twitter account.

The Jaguars will save 8.5 million in cap space by releasing Odrick.

Julius Thomas to the Dolphins?

The Dolphins are working on a trade with the Jaguars that would swap Miami left tackle Branden Albert with Jacksonville tight end Julius Thomas, according to the Sun Sentinel’s Omar Kelly.

The trade may be contingent on Albert and Thomas restructuring their contracts. The players would also need to pass physicals, and a deal can’t be finalized until the start of the new league year on March 9.

This would be a great trade for both teams.  Both could use the stars they are trading for.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald suggests that the Jacksonville Jaguars are interested in potentially acquiring Albert in a trade.

Salguero goes on to indicate that multiple teams have shown interest in the former Kansas City Chiefs first-round pick. Albert, 32, has a $10.6 million for the 2017 season. That is a fairly reasonable price considering the Jaguars need a starting left tackle and have the money to spend on one.

The Jaguars went away from Kelvin Beachum making him a free agent. Trading for Albert would be huge for Blake Bortles.
