Ravens safety was pulled over after flying past an unmarked police car, and when cops searched his Range Rover … they found a Gucci bag with 126 grams of weed, and 6 oxycodone pills. The former first round draft pick is being held on $15,500 bail.

Ravens once offered their entire draft to move up to get Matt Ryan; Interesting

Matt Ryan was almost a Raven

The only AFC quarterback to win the Super Bowl besides Big Ben, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning could have been on a different team.  Yesterady, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that the Baltimore Ravens spoke with the Rams back in 2008 about trading up in the draft to select QB Matt Ryan.

The Ravens offered their entire draft for the rights to pick Ryan, sources said, going from No. 8 to No. 2. The trade nearly happened, but the Rams asked for more. They also wanted Baltimore’s second-round pick from 2009 to clinch the deal.

Sources told Rapoport this week that the Ravens actually offered their entire draft to trade up from No. 8 overall to No. 2 and select Ryan and a deal nearly happened. However, the Rams were reportedly asking for even more from the Ravens including a 2009 second-round pick to do the deal.

Matt Ryan would not have had Ray Rice as his running back if this did happen, and let’s face it they would not have won the Super Bowl.  I guess it is safe to say, God is Good.

Ravens wide out Steve Smith is calling it a career after this season

Steve Smith has been a big time player since entering the league out of Utah. He is now pretty sure his time is coming to an end.

The Baltimore Ravens receiver said he’s “89 percent sure” what he’s going to do after the season. Smith said his sons still want him to play, but noted his daughter wants him home.

“Football is a conduit. It’s a platform, good and bad, but it gives you an opportunity,” a subdued Smith said. “Football’s given me probably more than I probably could give football back. For 2016-17 and beyond, it is probably my last game.

“People say, ‘come back and get some statistics.’ I got the best statistic ever: I played 16 years,” Smith said.

While Smith seems to be heading out the door, Antonio Gates the Chargers tight end says he is considering a return to San Diego… If they stay there….

“This is not the way I expected to be done,” Gates said, per Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune. “I’m definitely leaning toward coming back.”

Ravens CB Jimmy Smith says he is ready to fight Odell Beckham if need be

Jimmy Smith is ready to fight Odell Beckham Jr.

Jimmy Smith is ready to fight Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. is a guy that plays with a lot of emotions, while his opponent Jimmy Smith is not about all that extra curricular activity on the football field. Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith is looking forward to a physical matchup on Sunday against New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Smith is well aware that the two will engage in a physical matchup and is fine with that as long as it is part of the play. He said after the play that won’t fly.

“All of that extra hitting and talking, that’s not going to fly,” Smith said, via ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. “That’s not my game. I like to line up and play. ‘Give me your best shot, and I’ll give you mine.’ But if you hit me after the whistle, there’s going to be a fight.”

Jimmy Smith sounds like he will not take any of Odell Beckham’s BS.
