Bucs WR works transporting disabled people in the off-season to make ends meet

Bernard Reedy works hard in the off-season, gotta love it

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Bernard Reedy is a native of Tampa, Florida, but while many know him from the football field, he is well known in the elderly and disabled community.  Reedy was on the Buccaneers practice squad last year, and during the off-season the former Toledo wide out drives around elderly for a company called Care Ride. Care Ride is a Tampa-area company that provides transportation for people in wheelchairs. Reedy works eight hours per day, five days per week and earns 11 dollars an hour.

“The money in your savings is only going to last so long. I had to go out and get a job so I could continue to live,” Reedy told ESPN.com. “You want to always have something you fall back on. If you don’t work, you don’t have any more income, so it’s just decreasing. You’ve gotta go find a way to make some money.”

I like that he is helping others, but this goes to show you not everyone in the NFL is loaded with money. Sometimes you have to work hard to make ends meet.
