What is your name? 

Ernest Anthony Mengoni

What is your Height/Weight? 

6’3” 305lbs

What is your position? 

Center

Where do you play college football? 

Delaware State University 

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field? 

The coolest event I took place in volunteering was with Habitat For Humanity. It was awesome to be able do something so large for a local family while spending time with my teammates.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

My hardest course was Marketing Research. It tied all the Marketing concepts together while re-introducing the statistic aspect of business. 

Where are you from? 

I’m from Jessup, Pennsylvania 

Who is your role model, and why? 

Both of my grandfathers are my role models. My father’s father inspired my love for football and has been one of my biggest fans, while my mother’s father showed me what it meant to care about other people more than yourself. Both have influenced my life drastically.

Did you play any other sports growing up? 

I played baseball and wrestled. 

Did you play any other positions in football? 

I have always played center, guard, or defensive line throughout my football career.

At your position, what separates you from others? 

The attributes that separate me from other centers are my heart, technique, and intelligence. 

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it? 

The biggest obstacle I overcame was the death of my grandfather. I had just gotten through the grief of losing my grandmother and to lose him so soon after was tough. I got through it with my family and just by remembering all of the good he did for his family and friends.

Do you have any pre-game rituals? 

I listen to Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine before every game. It adds some fuel to the fire right before kickoff.

What is your biggest strength? 

My biggest strength is my leadership ability .

What is your biggest weakness? 

My biggest weakness is my length.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say? 

I am one of the most tenacious, persistent individuals you will ever meet. I pour my heart and soul into every single game, practice, and training session I participate in. I do not accept mediocrity in anything I do, so you should not expect it from me. 

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up? 

The Pittsburgh Steelers was my favorite and my favorite player was Jerome Bettis. 

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose? 

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, and Dallas Greene 

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

I do not intend on making any large scale purchases until I become a franchisee and begin to grow my own businesses.
